Before joining Marine Conservation Institute, Josh progressively built a career as a full-stack software developer. While studying history at American University in Washington, D.C. Josh gained experience in website development, and was recommended for the Digital Humanities Associate Fellowship at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. While at the museum, Josh built maps and other visualizations and was a presenter at the museum’s Silberman Seminar in 2019 for mapping technologies. As a technical analyst at a tech firm in Maryland, Josh participated in creating frontend dashboards, RESTful APIs, and utilized both SQL and no-SQL databases. Beyond application development, Josh has been involved in lobbying efforts in his home state of Michigan as well as Washington, D.C. and enjoys gardening and cooking in his spare time.
