Marine Protected Area Researcher (Seattle, WA)
Nikki Harasta recently earned her B.S. in Physiology with a minor in Chemistry from Seattle Pacific University. Raised in Ventura, California, her love and respect for marine life started from a young age. She grew up in a family of surfers, outrigger canoers, and beach volleyball players. Along with these activities, she enjoys playing soccer, dogs, and spending time outdoors. Throughout her undergraduate studies of medical and human-related biology, she encountered the pressing environmental issues that humans and non-humans imminently face, inspiring a passion to oppose anthropogenic destruction. Following graduation, she is taking time to explore that passion by joining Marine Conservation Institute. She is excited to broaden her understanding of current issues on a political scale and contribute to ocean protection.
