Morgane Bouvet recently obtained an MSc in Marine Systems and Policies from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
During her Master’s, Morgane focused mainly on ocean governance and international law of the sea. She explored the challenges of creating large-scale marine protected areas in remote islands of the Pacific for her Master’s dissertation, and how to include traditional knowledge in this process. Her interest lies in engaging with local communities for effective ocean management.
With the negotiations for a new treaty on the preservation of marine biodiversity beyond areas of national jurisdiction, it is an important time for ocean protection and Morgane is very grateful to have the opportunity to learn more about it.
In her free time, Morgane enjoys swimming, hiking and skiing.
