Blue Parks Science Intern

Megan is from coastal Virginia and is currently living in York, England. She earned her master’s degree in Sustainability Science at the University of York, where she researched and assessed the recovery of marine life in the South Arran MPA in Scotland. Her research interests include managing marine protected areas and submerged cultural resource management.

She holds a bachelor’s in Anthropology from James Madison University and has worked for several years as a field archaeologist in the US, Caribbean, United Kingdom, and India and as a maritime archaeologist in the Great Lakes. She is excited to join the Blue Parks team to learn more about what makes a marine protected area successful and to celebrate those who work hard to safeguard the marine environment!
