Blue Parks Science Intern

Laura earned her master’s degree in Marine Systems and Policies from the University of Edinburgh, a course which explores marine conservation issues through the interconnected lens of science and policy. During this time, her research was primarily focused on the socio-economic impacts of marine conservation efforts, and the human rights implications of global fishery policy. Laura has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Trinity College Dublin. She has spent two years working in coral reef research in the Caribbean, an experience which sparked her interest in Marine Protected Areas. More recently she has worked in high seas fishery research. Laura is looking forward to developing her skills and knowledge with the Marine Conservation Institute’s Blue Parks team.
