Gabriela Garcia completed her bachelor's program in social sciences (B.A.) at Freie Universität Berlin, where she specialized in social and ecological transformation processes and gained her first practical research experience in a coastal erosion and climate change mitigation project in British Columbia, Canada.
Following her great enthusiasm for nature- and biodiversity conservation, she then enrolled in the master's program "Global Change Management" (M.Sc.) at the University for Sustainable Development, Eberswalde. The program focuses on climate change drivers and their impacts on natural and human systems, alongside proactive and adaptive management approaches.
Gabriela's research interests include ecosystem services, adaptive capacity, and resilience of marine (and freshwater) ecosystems in the face of anthropogenic stressors and a changing climate.
