Haley McKinnon

Haley grew up in Portland, Oregon, and whales have always been their favorite animals. They hold a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from Pacific University, and are currently pursuing a master's as part of the Environmental Arts and Humanities Initiative at Oregon State University. Their research focuses on a combination of rhetoric, environmental sociology, and human/animal relationships, and their thesis is specifically on the ways in which human perceptions of whales have changed throughout the progression of the Anthropocene.

When they're not studying, Haley can be found hiking, baking, writing poetry, dancing, watching zombie movies, or playing with their incredibly cute dog, Sendo.
