Blue Parks Intern
Ellie graduated from Oregon State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Marine and Estuarine Science at San Francisco State University, where her thesis is exploring the reciprocal interactions between elasmobranchs and eelgrass in the San Francisco Estuary.
During her undergrad, Ellie researched seagrass community assemblages in Oregon estuaries and worked in Malaysian Borneo assisting with the rehabilitation of displaced wildlife. Prior to starting her masters, she worked at a NOAA Fisheries regulatory office focusing on salmonid conservation in Northern California.
She enjoys tide pooling, birding, and spending time with her herd of pygmy goats in her free time. She is excited to join the Blue Parks team and broaden her skills of applying scientific consensus to management recommendations and implementation.
