Colin (Kuo-Chang) Wen
Tunghai University, Taiwan
Colin (Kuo-Chang) Wen (aka 溫國彰) got his PhD from James Cook University (Australia), where he worked with Prof. Geoff Jones. Colin’s PhD focused on the ecological behavior and habitat preference of fishery species’ recruitment. Colin currently works in Tunghai University, Taiwan as Associate Professor, teaching marine biology, ichthyology and coral reefs related topics. He is collecting both coral reef fishes and human activities data to illustrate the effect of marine reserves on illegal fishing in Chinese and Taiwanese water. He also has other ongoing projects involving human disturbance from coastal developing, tourism on coral reef fish communities and behavior level. He aims to use this information to develop guidelines for coral reef management and achieve a better balance between marine resource utilization and environment conservation for sustainable fisheries in coral reef ecosystem.
