Justin Xavier, Experienced Marketing Executive joins Marine Conservation Institute Board of Directors

[Glen Ellen, CA] Dr. Lance Morgan, President of Marine Conservation Institute, announced that Justin Xavier has joined the Board of Directors. Justin has over 15 years of experience in advertising and marketing and is an accomplished creative & communications professional. He is a passionate storyteller, committed to developing award-winning creative for brands with purpose beyond profit.

His experience crosses every major business segment - from cannabis to financial services, automotive to consumer-packaged goods. Some notable brands Justin has led include Starling Brands, Volvo, Fidelity Investments, Evian, Kraft, Nestle, Proximo, TELUS and Johnson & Johnson. He has a degree in Marketing & International Business form Ryerson University (Toronto, Canada), and attended Wharton University as part of the Havas global leadership development program.

Justin Xavier explained his passion for Marine Conservation Institute’s mission, “The preservation and conservation of the world’s oceans are more important today than at any other time in human history. Given the expanse of the world’s oceans, sometimes we lose track of how important their health is for us, and the marine life that lives within. I’m thrilled at the opportunity to join the Board at Marine Conservation Institute and tell the many stories of our precious oceans, with partners from across the world.”

Morgan added, “We are delighted that someone with the high-caliber marketing talent of Justin has joined our organization. The ocean needs passionate and talented individuals like Justin and we are excited by the opportunity to enlist his story-telling to share our story to a broader audience.”

Nathalie Udo, Chair of the Board, said, “We are confident that Justin will bring his passion and skills in business and marketing to Marine Conservation Institute. We are very excited to have him join our Board of Directors”

About Marine Conservation Institute

Marine Conservation Institute, founded in 1996, works in the U.S. and globally to seek strong protection for at least 30% of the ocean by 2030—for us and future generations. Our focus on protecting the ocean’s most important places follows several lines of work: identifying and advocating for strong marine protected areas; improving laws and other tools to better conserve marine biodiversity; catalyzing effective conservation by recognizing and elevating the best marine protected areas as Blue Parks and Blue Sparks; and accurately reporting on conservation metrics with our Marine Protection Atlas (MPAtlas.org).
